Donald Trump suggests word 'covfefe' might have 'deep meaning' in fresh comments on notorious tweet

Donald Trump has suggested his notorious "covfefe" tweet, widely thought to have been a misspelling, may actually have had "deep meaning".

In 2017, the US President wrote a tweet which read: "Despite the constant negative press covfefe.”

Mr Trump has never explained the meaning, despite the message baffling millions, but has suggested it might not be the error people thought.

After a horse named Covfefe won six out of her first eight races, the Daily Caller tweeted about her being named after "President Trump's famous mistweet".

To this the President wrote: "Great! But how do you know it was a 'mistweet?' May be something with deep meaning!"

This added fresh confusion to the social media saga, as people began to pontificate on what said meaning could be.

Racehorse Covfefe won the $1 million Filly & Mare Sprint by three-quarters of a length at the Breeders' Cup over the weekend.
