Donald Trump could return to the UK in June for his first full state visit after he was prevented from the honour on his trip last year.
According to reports in the US, the White House is set to announce in the next 48 hours the dates the President will travel to Britain.
The Queen is thought to have issued a formal invitation to Trump with a trade delegation expected to follow in September.
Downing Street officials have been in secret talks with their White House counterparts about the timing of the visit since late last year and are expected to make a joint announcement shortly.

The visit is likely to coincide with the 75th anniversary of D-Day when the President also plans to attend an event in France to commemorate the liberation of the country by the allied forces during the Second World War.
It is expected that Trump would, therefore, visit on or around June 6.
A state visit could include a banquet at Buckingham Palace and a carriage procession.

Trump’s previous visit to the UK last May saw thousands of police drafted in from every force in the UK as the trip was met with mass protests.
Thames Valley Police, which policed most of the president's stay as he met the Queen at Windsor Castle and Theresa May at Chequers, received £6 million.
The overall cost of policing the visit to the UK amounted to £14.2 million, according to Freedom of Information figures.
Last night the White House refused to comment.
