Aberdeen star Scott McKenna has been criticised after announcing he has become a club ambassador for Donald Trump's golf course.
Trump has an increasing influence in Scotland with his investment in golf, adding to his portfolio of clubs in the United States, where he has routinely played with professional players, such as Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods.
McKenna, an avid golfer, was delighted to accept the position to promote the US president's links experience.
"I am privileged to have been appointed club ambassador Trump Scotland," McKenna wrote on social media.
"A keen golfer and supporter of the property, I look forward to working with Trump International, Scotland to promote the property as a leading leisure destination. #ClubAmbassador."
The response was fierce with most condemning the move and questioning his "moral standards."
"Some people have no moral standards," @RogerMcMonagle wrote. " Money and free golf to promote a business owned by a racist bigoted misogynist.
"Where have you ben burying your head, Scott McKenna? Have you no shame?"
While @Tannoyman wrote: "Time for you to leave Aberdeen then as you have joined up with one of the most hated people in the world and Aberdeen."
Trump was described as "odious" by @amaginnit, who said: "Shouldn't do that. Trump is an odious individual."
