Donald Trump, the probable Republican nominee for the 2016 presidential election, has said that he doesn't use offshore bank accounts and that his tax rates are no one's business.
The billionaire and reality television star told ABC's Good Morning America that he's built a "massive business" and wants to "make sure everything is perfect."
Trump then, incorrectly, stated that many presidents have not released their tax returns to the public. ABC correspondent George Stephanopolous corrected Trump by saying that every single presidential nominee since 1976 has released their returns.
"Right but before 1976 most people didn't do it," Trump responded, "I mean, it used to be a secret thing. I don't want it to be secret but I do want the audit to get finished."
One of the real estate mogul's loudest critics has been the 2012 Republican nominee, Mitt Romney.
“There is only one logical explanation for Mr. Trump’s refusal to release his returns: there is a bombshell in them,” Romney wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday. “Given Mr. Trump’s equanimity with other flaws in his history, we can only assume it’s a bombshell of unusual size.”
