Donald Trump has blasted "fake news" for reporting on his low approval ratings.
Sharing a Rasmussen poll saying he had a 46 per cent approval rating on Twitter, the US President said: "One of the most accurate polls last time around.
"But #FakeNews likes to say we’re in the 30’s. They are wrong. Some people think numbers could be in the 50's."
"Together, WE will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
Last month, a poll suggested less than a third of Americans backed Mr Trump's leadership.
Just 32 per cent of voters said they approved of the way the billionaire handles the pressures of the Oval Office, according to a survey by the Associated Press and the NORC Centre for Public Affairs Research.
Analytics of the polls by the website FiveThirtyEight showed Mr Trump's average approval rating sitting around 38 per cent.
Mr Trump's tweet came after he declared he would make a "major statement" from the White House upon his return to Washington, DC, from his two-week tour of Asia.
The President did not reveal the exact nature of his announcement, merely saying its scheduling was to be confirmed.
