CLEVELAND _ Donald Trump said Friday he'd reject Ted Cruz's endorsement if he makes one.
"He'll come and endorse, but I don't want his endorsement," Trump said Friday as he thanked supporters in a downtown Cleveland hotel. "Stay at home, Ted, relax."
Hours after accepting the presidential nomination, Trump spent much of a victory lap ripping Cruz and revisiting their primary battles over pictures of Cruz's wife and reviving accusations that Cruz's father was involved in the JFK assassination.
Trump suggested Cruz _ in snubbing Trump at the convention, may have "ruined his political career," and he accused Cruz at the last minute of swapping out remarks in his convention speech to make it clear he wasn't endorsing Trump.
"To me that's dishonorable, that's not a nice thing to do," Trump said.
The Cruz detour came as Trump basked on what he said was a convention "filled with love." He bragged that the "television ratings for this convention were through the roof."
And he said his Republican critics "have no choice" but to vote for him: "Supreme Court justices," he said, promising he'll appoint someone in Antonin Scalia's mold, unlike Hillary Clinton.
"No matter what you think of Donald Trump, as a Republican ... you have no choice," he said. "Whether you're a hater or a lover."
He brought much of his bare-bones campaign staff up on the stage with him and said he's beefing up for the next 100 days.
"We're going to go all the way," he said. "And when we get there, we will indeed make America great again."
