Donald Trump says he’ll be at World Series, but Nationals say his foe will be tossing first pitch

Donald Trump is scheduled to attend World Series Game 5 at Nationals Park on Sunday, but he won’t be tossing out the first pitch — the Nationals gave that honor is to chef José Andrés, who famously earned the ire of the president by removing his restaurant from the Trump D.C. hotel.

Fans of political drama will look forward to the juxtaposition. Nationals fans aren’t — They’re hoping for a sweep, thus making Game 5 unnecessary.

For his mark, Andrés is with Nationals fans, saying that he is honored to have been invited, but hopes that the fans will be celebrating before he is scheduled to toss out the opening pitch.

Andrés, a naturalized American citizen, is a native of Spain, but he’s been a mainstay in the D.C. restaurant scene for decades.
