Donald Trump’s last visit to his luxury Scottish resort cost more than £800,000, it has been revealed.
The figure was incurred during his two-night visit to his Trump Turnberry golf resort near Girvan, Ayrshire in July 2018.
The bill, footed by the US taxpayer, was revealed in documents published by the Office of Inspector General for the US Department of Homeland Security.
A breakdown of expenses incurred throughout the brief trip shows Secret Service expenses totalled at least £822,649.
The service spent £8338 at Trump’s property but the OIG said it “could not determine how much the resort gained in profits”.
Democratic politicians have called on Trump, 73, to reimburse the US public purse, describing the trip as “unnecessary and wasteful”.
