Donald Trump permanently banned from Twitter 'due to risk of inciting more violence'

Donald Trump has been permanently banned from Twitter 'due to the risk of further incitement of violence'.

Earlier this week pro-Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol in an attempt to stop the certification of Joe Biden as Trump's presidential successor.

During the violence and rioting Trump used Twitter to broadcast a video where he told the mob to 'go home' but also said 'we love you'.

Trump's presidency, and much of his public persona, has been tied to his love of the social media site.

He frequently fires off angry or misleading tweets at public figures who displease him.
