Donald Trump Jr, amongst other members of the Trump family, appears to be furious over Vogue’s decision to feature first Lady Jill Biden on the cover of the August issue of the magazine - despite never featuring former first lady Melania Trump.
Vogue’s tradition of having a first lady grace the cover had a long gap, resuming after four years of Donald and Melania occupying the White House.
In a recent Instagram post, Trump Jr pettily posted the Vogue cover, superimposing hard rock singer and actor Alice Cooper’s face over the first lady’s.
“Nailed it. Apologies to Alice Cooper,” the caption read.
Lara Trump, the wife of Trump’s youngest son Eric Trump, was also disgruntled over Biden’s cover. She went on a long rant about the former first lady being snubbed of the cover.
“Well, it’s too bad that we didn’t have a first lady who was a model, who was incredibly fashionable [and] who they could get on the cover of Vogue when Donald Trump was in office—oh wait, we did, it was Melania Trump,” she said on a Fox Business segment.
“The reason that this happened was because these people are so obsessed with hating Donald Trump,” she added.
She also said that the fashion outlet is “so woke they could not bring themselves to put an incredibly beautiful woman” on the cover and that the former first lady was “the most beautiful first lady we ever had.”
First lady Jill Biden spoke to Jonathan Van Meter in the feature story of the August edition, titled, “A First Lady for All of Us: On The Road With Dr Jill Biden.” And on the cover, Biden is wearing a navy and floral patterned Oscar de la Renta dress.
First lady Jill Biden’s appearance on the cover seemed to polarize the internet - likely along political lines - with some sharing Lara Trump’s sentiments that the former first lady deserved to have an opportunity.
One wrote: “Why were Michelle Obama & Jill Biden featured on the cover of Vogue but Melania Trump never was? Because they are beautiful on the inside, too.”
Another added: “Shallow trumps! They will not never understand that it takes more than looks to make a person beautiful.”
Some noted that the former first lady already featured in Vogue for her wedding to Trump in 2005.

Melania Trump did have a career as a model in Milan and Paris before she moved to New York City in 1996.
She also made an appearance in British GQ in 2000.
In 2010, she delved into the accessories market, launching her own jewellery line called Melania Timepieces and Jewelry, which was sold on QVC. She also had a skincare line called Melania Marks Skin Care Collection sold at high-end department stores.
