Donald Trump Jr. divorce almost finalized, court official says

Donald Trump Jr. has bested his father in one regard: He avoided a messy divorce.

Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump are close to finalizing their separation, a court official confirmed Friday.

"The matter has been resolved," a spokesman for the state court system said.

That means the couple, who married in 2005 and have five children, have agreed on any differences regarding money, custody and visitation.

"We finalized our agreement at the end of last year. We are incredibly lucky to have five amazing children and are committed to raising them together. Our kids and their happiness will always be our first priority," the former couple said in a statement.

Vanessa Trump filed for divorce from Trump Jr. in March.

Trump Jr. is now dating former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle.

President Donald Trump has divorced two times. His separation from Ivana Trump in 1992 played out in the headlines as he started a relationship with Marla Maples, who would become his second wife. Trump divorced Maples in 1999; they had one daughter together.

Trump married first lady Melania Trump in 2005.
