The terms of impeachment to be faced by President Donald Trump will be voted on this week, with a trial expected to start in January should they pass.
Two articles - abuse of power and obstruction of Congress - have been drafted by the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee, which released a 658-page report earlier this week.
The report alleges that President Trump tried to "cover up" his abuse of power relating to dealings with Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Chuck Schumer, the US Senate’s minority leader, criticised the White House for its handling of the inquiry and warned that any impeachment trial without witnesses would amount to a “cover-up”.
