Donald Trump has hinted he might run for US President again in 2024.

Speaking at a conservative conference in Florida, in his first speech since Democrat Joe Biden became president, Mr Trump repeated his false claims that he lost November’s election to the Democrats because of electoral fraud.

Teasing another run for the top job at the next election, he added: “Actually you know they just lost the White House. But who knows - who knows?

“I may even decide to beat them for a third time, OK?”

Mr Trump also told supporters that the “incredible journey” they started four years ago “is far from over.”

“We are gathered this afternoon to talk about the future - the future of our movement, the future of our party, and the future of our beloved country.”

Mr Trump also criticised his successor, claiming US policy had gone from “America first to America last.”

And he also dismissed ideas that he might start a new political party, describing it as “fake news”, and suggesting it would split the Republican vote.

“Wouldn’t that be brilliant? Let’s start a new party so we can divide our vote and never win,” he joked.

“We have the Republican Party. It’s going to unite and be stronger than ever before,” he added.

His remarks come after he was acquitted in an impeachment trial where he avoided conviction by the US Senate because Republicans stood by his side.

The final result was 57-43, which left the prosecution 10 short of the two-thirds majority required.

Despite this, he still remains banned from social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter, over his response to January’s deadly riot at the US Capitol.

Loyalists includingTexas Senator Ted Cruz and his son Donald Trump Jr were among the other speakers at the Conservative Political Action Conference event.
