Donald Trump brands part of Mueller report 'total bulls***' as he hits out at claims about him

Donald Trump has lashed out at the Mueller report following its public release labelling some of its content "total bulls***".

The US president initially reacted positively to the report, which he triumphed for quashing prior allegations he had colluded with Russia in his 2016 election campaign.

His counsellor Kellyanne Conway called its release "the best day" for Trump's team since his election, though he has since appeared to take umbrage with its contents.

In an angry series of twets, he said: "Statements are made about me by certain people in the Crazy Mueller Report, in itself written by 18 Angry Democrat Trump Haters, which are fabricated & totally untrue."

He added that some were "total bulls*** & only given to make the other person look good (or me to look bad)."

Special counsel Robert Mueller found no criminal evidence that Mr Trump or his campaign aides colluded in Russian election meddling.

The report also did not recommend obstruction charges against the president.

However, the 448-page report released Thursday nonetheless described numerous cases where he allegedly discouraged witnesses from cooperating with prosecutors.

He was also to have prodded aides to mislead the public on his behalf to hamper the Russia probe he feared would cripple his presidency.

The president is in Florida for the Easter weekend and headed to his West Palm Beach golf club on Friday after some early morning rain had cleared.

The White House said he played golf with conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh "and a couple friends".
