Donald Trump has become a grandfather for the eighth time and if we had to guess perhaps he didn’t have much of an influence over the name of the family’s latest addition.
The Republican frontrunner’s daughter Ivanka, 34, gave birth to son Theodore on Sunday. Theodore is the third child of Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner who owns the New York Observer.
She announced the news on Twitter, sharing a photo of herself and her son writing her “heart is full”.
Some Twitter users soon pointed out the irony that the name of the newborn is often shortened to the name shared by his biggest rival in the GOP nomination race, Ted Cruz.
It’s likely Trump won’t be using the nickname for his grandson if recent events between him and the Texan senator are anything to go by. Relations between the pair recently soured after they became embroiled in a Twitter row where, following Trump’s tweet of a picture of his wife Meliana and Mr Cruz’s wife Heidi in an attempt to draw comparisons, Mr Cruz responded by telling him “real men don’t attack women”.
Theodore is Trump’s eighth grandchild and Ivanka and Jared’s third child after daughter, Arabella and son, Joseph. Trump’s eldest son Donald Jr. has five children with wife Vanessa Haydon.
