Donald Faison's Children Praise His Acting Skills On 'Extended Family'

Knife found at the scene after a man, who was later shot dead by police, killed four members of his extended family in Queens

Donald Faison, known for his roles in popular TV shows and movies, recently received the ultimate compliment from his children after they watched his new show, Extended Family. Faison shared that his youngest kids, Rocco and Wilder, praised his acting skills, calling him their favorite actor. They even went as far as to say he was better than Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, much to Faison's surprise and delight.

Although his children have not seen some of his iconic works like Scrubs and Clueless, they were impressed by his performance in Extended Family. Faison, who plays Trey in the comedy series, expressed his joy at receiving such positive feedback from his kids.

Aside from his younger children, Faison is also a father to older kids from previous relationships. He shared his excitement about working alongside Jon Cryer in Extended Family, revealing that Cryer has been a longtime inspiration for him since his teenage years.

Faison's admiration for Cryer stems from the latter's role in the '80s classic Pretty In Pink, where Cryer's character left a lasting impact on Faison. The opportunity to work with Cryer on the sitcom was a dream come true for Faison, who now considers Cryer a close work buddy.

Extended Family, which airs on NBC, follows the story of coparenting between Cryer's character, Jim, and his ex-wife Julia, played by Abigail Spencer. Faison's character, Trey, adds a comedic touch to the series as the new fiancé in the mix.

Fans can catch Extended Family on NBC on Tuesdays at 8:30 pm ET or stream it on Peacock the following day. Faison's heartwarming experience with his children's praise and his exciting collaboration with Jon Cryer have added a new chapter to his successful acting career.
