Donald Cerrone has thanked Conor McGregor for making him a rich man.
Cerrone, a 50-fight veteran, will earn his first seven-figure pay cheque when he takes on McGregor in Las Vegas tonight.
The American is due to earn £200,000 for fighting but that figure will be inflated when his share of the pay-per-view is taken into account.
And he said: "I re-did my contract so thanks Conor, appreciate that.
"Moving forward my next six fights are all money fights, not just this one.
"We did a contract for all of them, I'm stoked, happy to be here and to get the respect this old dinosaur deserves for being here.
"I've been in the sport a long time and I deserve the respect I get and it's cool to see Conor finally giving it to me."
McGregor himself claims he will earn as much as £60m from tonight's fight.
"It's going to be a good pay cheque," he told ESPN. "Probably the most ever in my mixed martial arts career... I'm estimating a good $80m.
"We have Australia, Canada and England and Ireland... it should be a good one.
"[I made] $50m [against Khabib]. They think I'm toast but I'm still the bread.
"I'll be a billionaire by the time I'm 35."
Cerrone has long been in the running to fight McGregor but saw the fight fall through in 2016.
And he revealed he almost gave up hope this time.
"I shouldn't say we gave up home, but it always came up and this last one I said I was going snowmobiling and if it happens it happens," he said.
"They couldn't get a hold of us out on the hill and I came back and the contract was there.
"There was a two-week period where it didn't feel real because something was going on on his side but then it happened."
