Don't Trash Our Future campaign launches in Cardiff

A national campaign to toughen laws on littering in Wales and around the UK has launched in Cardiff.

Don't Trash Our Future, a campaign being run in partnership with In Your Area, WalesOnline, and Clean Up Britain, officially launched in Cardiff on Wednesday.

Tom Gibbon, the editor of In Your Area, visited the Welsh capital as part of the launch week.

Speaking at Sophia Gardens, Tom urged people in Wales to sign this petition to the UK Government and to sign our petition to the Welsh Government, which has responsibility for tackling littering and setting fines in Wales.

The aim is to lobby the governments in Wales and Westminster to change the legislation and shed the UK of its long-held reputation as a litter-plagued nation.

The campaign is also calling on councils to flex their muscles in the fight against rubbish and make far better use of the powers they already have available.
