Don't miss this magical Christmas wonderland in Kambah

Kellie Prescott may just be Christmas' answer to Willy Wonka, creating a world of pure imagination at her home in a Kambah cul-de-sac.

The ward clerk at the Canberra Hospital loves Christmas - and it shows.

Her display at 10 Trimmer Place in Kambah includes an amazing display of festive fare in Mrs Claus' bakery that looks absolutely scrumptious. Pies, tarts, cupcakes, gingerbread. Except it's all fake, made by Kellie.

"It's lots and lots of wall putty, would you believe?" she said.

"And foams and fake bakes. I love to bake, anyway, it's just not the real thing."

There are lots of other beautiful touches such as a fireplace, with a rocking chair to sit in, photographs of Santa and his reindeer on the mantelpiece.

Or kids can sit at Santa's desk to write him a letter and then post it to the North Pole.

And there's lots of inflatable figures on the front lawn, lights, a sleigh for photos and a chance to feed the reindeer.

Kellie's mechanic sons, Damien and Corey, also get into the spirit, dressing up as an elf and Santa, while daughter-in-law Danielle, a local florist, also dons a costume.

It's not just kids who love the display.

Residents of the Mirinjani aged care home in Weston also visited this week.

"It's lovely to see their smiles," Kellie said.

The display is open from 6pm to midnight each night up to and including Christmas Eve.

There is no entry cost to enjoy this little slice of Christmas wonderland.
