Don't lose headline magic to keyword pedantry

An entertaining blog from the Daily Telegraph's online news editor, Shane Richmond, about the "magic" of headlines. He points to the danger of losing wit in favour of the blandness and pedantry some people demand in order to satisfy search engine optimisation. His starting point, by the way, is an eye-catching line from a wall in Deptford, south London: "I spit on your 47 vegetables." As he rightly observes, you just want to know so much more about that.
