Don’t expect George Kittle to hit WWE finisher for TD celebration

George Kittle’s signature touchdown celebration emulates “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s famous can smash from the attitude era of the WWE. Just don’t expect the 49ers tight end to connect with a Stone Cold Stunner to honor the WWE Hall of Famer to celebrate a touchdown though.

Kittle made an appearance on the “It Doesn’t Matter What Your Podcast Is Called” on the Blue Wire Podcast Network and was asked if we could expect any sort of finishing move for his touchdown celebration.

“So here’s the thing. So finishers, technically wrestling is violence so I could get fined,” Kittle said. “(Chiefs TE Travis) Kelce did the Stone Cold Stunner last year and he shot me a text saying, ‘I would not do that because I got in trouble for that one.’ So I’m going to stick to clapping those water bottles together.”

Even though the NFL gave more leeway to celebrations, wrestling moves are still prohibited. With so many good choices from the stunner to the People’s Elbow, unless Kittle is fine with a letter from the league, the finishers will have to stay in the ring.
