'Don't deliver' - Ex-Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan speaks out on Nottingham Forest managers

Simon Jordan feels Nottingham Forest should be in the Premier League but feels the club 'weighs heavy' on its managers.

The Reds sacked Sabri Lamouchi on Tuesday night and replaced him the same evening with former Brighton and Norwich manager Chris Hughton.

Forest are desperately hoping Hughton can bring much-needed managerial stability to the City Ground where Aitor Karanka, Martin O'Neill and Lamouchi have been unsuccessful in trying to guide the club back to the top flight.

And ex-Palace owner Jordan, speaking to Talksport, feels the history and expectation at Forest puts a  significant burden on the men in the hotseat.

"This is a club which has snatched defeat from the jaws of victory for a long time. I think back to Sheffield United in 2003  and when they lost heavily to Stoke last season.

"You've had Mark Warburton, Aitor Karanka, our friend Stuart Pearce, Martin O'Neill, Billy Davies. You've had a litany of managers.

"I watched them against Hull. They looked a decent side at the time.

"This club seems to weigh heavy on managers. They don't deliver the expectation of owners.

"I look at this club and it feels, like Leeds and Aston Villa, that they should be in the Premier League. They aren't the same size, but their achievements are.

"Think of when they dominated in Europe and the players they had.

"When you go to that ground, it was always an incredible atmosphere. They do live in the past a bit, they're boardroom is rooted in the 70s, but it's a big club."
