Don Hutchison insists Rangers would have 'mullered' Celtic no matter what as Ibrox diehard plays down demise talk

Confident Don Hutchison insists Rangers would have "mullered" Celtic this season - even if Neil Lennon's side were not enduring a horror campaign.

The Ibrox superfan and former Scotland hero believes that Steven Gerrard's side would have cruised to Premiership title glory even if the Hoops' had mustered a stronger defence.

The Light Blues are enjoying a 28-game unbeaten run in the league and sit 21 points clear at the top of the table following the draw with Hamilton.

Brian Rice's side are only the fourth side to take any points off ruthless Rangers so far this season.

However, Hutchison reckons too much has been made of the struggles in Glasgow's east end this term and Rangers would be top of the table even if they were in from.

The 49-year-old said on Twitter: "People talk about the demise of Celtic, but f*** me the form of Rangers would have mullered them anyways.

"This could be unbeaten in the league in 28 games! Yes 28 games! No one in Europe has a better record."

After the full-time whistle at New Douglas Park, the 49-year-old added: "Incredible achievement from Rangers. Stevie G and his men. ZERO losses in the league so far."

Rangers had been on course to win their third consecutive game 1-0 in Lanarkshire after Brian Easton's own goal put them in front, before Ross Callachan levelled in injury time.
