Don Goodman outlines one area Nottingham Forest need to improve 'very quickly'

Nottingham Forest have been warned that not making the most of matches where they control more possession than their opponents could come back to haunt them.

Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman has made the claim ahead of the Tuesday night clash with Cardiff City on Tuesday night (7.45pm) with the Reds on a three-game winless streak.

The last time Forest won was the 2-0 defeat of Leeds United earlier this month, but the two clubs' paths have gone in different ways since the enthralling Saturday evening clash at the City Ground.

Leeds haven't dropped a point since and now a six-point gap has grown between the two sides with Forest in fifth place.

In two of those three games, against Charlton and QPR - both matches without a goal from the Reds - Forest have had more of the ball than their visitors.

And Goodman reckons that is something that has to change soon with time running out for Forest.

Only 12 games remain until the season ends.

“They will be frustrated that another game has gone by where they’ve had more of the ball than the opposition and not won," he told Sky Sports' EFL podcast.

"It’s a conundrum they’re going to have to solve very, very quickly.”
