Domino's worker explains how to get free pizza - and 'truth behind the tracker'

For many fast food enthusiasts, Domino's is the king of pizzas.

While Italian cuisine aficionados may turn their nose up at its deep pan, love of multiple-meats and liberal use of cheese, it has many fans.

On just one day in December 2018 Domino's flogged 535,000 pizzas - equivalent to 12 a second over the course of a trading day, or one for every person in Leicester.

Yet despite how familiar Brits are with the chain, there are a few things even its most loyal customer may not know.

A Domino's pizza employee spilled the beans with The Daily Star about what goes on behind the counter.

A member of staff has shared some insider secrets (ExpressStar)

1. Staff 'get orders wrong on purpose'

A simple but effective trick to earn themselves a free pizza is allegedly employed by Domino's staff, claims the insider.

When customers call up to complain they receive a replacement pizza and the incorrect one is taken home by hungry employees, the employee claimed.

2. Uncollected pizza is a cause for celebration

While one might think Domino's staff were a bit sick of pizza, apparently not.

When customers don't turn up to collect their cheese and tomato based treat, jubilant employees are allowed to take it home.

3. The online delivery tracker is not as smart as it seems

According to the Star's man on the inside, the tracker is mostly bluster.

They said: "There's no super-tech working this out. It's a guess at best, I'm afraid."

4.  Staff know what you're going to order

Or at least they can have a good guess.

When you call up Domino's employees can access a list of your previous orders.

5. It pays to be friendly

If you're pals with a Domino's employee then get them to ring up on your behalf.

All staff receive a 50% discount.

6. It can really pay to be friendly

While the customer may always be right, members of staff always hold the balance of power.

According to the Domino's employee, "all you have to do is be nice" if you want some free food.
