Domino's Pizza celebrating launch of new store in Leopardstown with bespoke headpiece expected to fetch over €1,200 at charity auction

Domino's Pizza are celebrating the launch of their new store in Leopardstown, Co Dublin.

And in tribute to the home of racing, they teamed up with respected milliner Margaret O'Connor who designed a bespoke headpiece inspired by the dominoes game and the Domino's logo.

The wide brimmed, monochrome, perforated pleather hat measures 68cm in diameter and was created with Audrey Hepburn and Constance Markievicz in mind.

The striking black headpiece was modelled by Domino's Ambassador for Barretstown, Michele McGrath.

The hat will be donated to Barretstown for a charity auction and is expected to fetch in excess of €1,200.

Commenting on the donation, Dee Ahearn, Barretstown CEO said: "We are so grateful to Domino’s for the donation of this unique headpiece from Margaret O’Connor.

"I am sure our supporters will love it and we hope it raises a significant amount at our 25th Anniversary Gala Ball.

"We would also like to thank Domino’s for their on-going support and wish them the very best of luck with their new store.

"The donations from Penneys, the online charity box on Dominos.ie, the annual fundraising and the Domino’s Amazing Race for Barretstown are incredibly beneficial and it’s great that these will increase with the opening of the store.”

Paul Dupuy, Ireland Marketing Manager for Domino’s said, “There’s a fantastic sense of community in Leopardstown and the locals really celebrate Ladies' Day at the races, along with the rest of the country.

"It’s great to work with home-grown talent to create something unique that will benefit our charity partner, Barretstown.

"We hope it raises much-needed funds and creates a bit of a stir along the way. We’ve recruited nearly 30 store colleagues for the new store and have spent weeks training them to make our famous dough-licious pizzas.

"We look forward to many years delivering freshly handmade pizzas to the neighbourhood.“

The new store located at Leopardstown Business Centre, Unit 5, Ballyogan Road, Sandyford, Dublin 18 and opening hours are 11am to 5am.
