Domino's launches vegan pizzas and dairy-free garlic and herb dip across the UK from today

Domino’s has launched two plant-based pizzas and a vegan-friendly version of its popular garlic and herb dip.

The nationwide rollout across all of the fast food chain’s 1,200 stores follows a trial in 46 outlets earlier this year, which Domino’s described as “highly successful”.

The new pizzas are made from a hand-stretched vegan dough and a plant-based cheese that does not contain any dairy or animal-derived products.

From today, customers will be able to order two new flavours including the Vegan Margherita, which is made using the company’s signature tomato sauce, a vegan cheese alternative, and is topped with tomatoes.

Meanwhile, the Vegan Vegi Supreme comes covered in mushrooms, sweetcorn, onions and green and red peppers.

Customers can also use the vegan base and cheese to create their own pizzas.  

In addition, Domino's has created a vegan version of its Garlic and Herb Dip, which does not contain any eggs or dairy.

Almost all of Domino’s competitors, including Pizza Hut and Papa Johns, have been offering vegan pizza options on menus for some time.

The pizza chain says that it has taken until now for the company to be satisfied with the quality of its new vegan range.

Melanie Howe, food and digital communications manager at Domino’s, said: “Domino’s may not be the first, but following fantastic feedback from our recent trial, we’re confident ours tastes the best.  

“Our pizza chefs have been tucked away in test kitchens perfecting the recipe to ensure our vegan-friendly range recreates the unique magic of Domino’s famous original dough.”

She added: “Of course, nothing says Domino’s like our Garlic and Herb dip, so we’re proud to have perfected a worthy equivalent of the legendary pot so our vegan fans can also dunk or drizzle to their hearts’ content.”

Last month, Domino’s launched a squeeze bottle version of its garlic and herb dipping sauce.  

However, the chain announced that there was only a limited run of 1,000 bottles being produced.
