Ayrshire's Domino's stores have launched an 'innovative' service that means punters can collect pizza without leaving their car.
The 'in car collection' tech was trialed in a handful of UK cities late last year in response to strict coronavirus rules.
The measures means that customers could only collect hot food from a hatch or doorway in a bid to halt the spread of COVID-19.
The tech has now been rolled out to the Kilmarnock's Glasgow Road and Titchfield Street stores along with Domino's take-aways in Irvine, Ayr and Stevenston.
This new innovation uses location-sharing to track a customer’s journey from sofa to store.
Domino's staff will then hand-deliver the food to the car.
Declan Smith, Domino’s Kilmarnock store manager said: “Collection is hugely popular in our store and we know pizza fans in Kilmarnock love a great deal.
"By offering In Car Collection, we’re giving our customers even more options to get their hands on a Domino’s pizza.
"In these uncertain times we know how important it is to be able to rely on your local store to cook up delicious food when you’re craving it the most.
"We’re proud to be able to go a step further and make life that little bit easier by bringing your order directly to your car when you come to collect your food.”
Clive West, Domino’s group digital director said : “We’re doing everything we can to keep our customers and colleagues safe, because we know our pizza continues to bring a bit of happiness during these uncertain times.
"Many of our customers opt for collection when ordering with us and given the recent changes in Government advice, we’ve worked quickly and are delighted to have added In Car Collection to our Kilmarnock Titchfield Street store.
"We’re always looking to make things easy as possible for our customers and knowing convenience and speed are key, In Car Collection offers a safe collection method.
"Feedback from stores already offering the service has been fantastic so I’m sure our latest innovation will be a hit with our local customers.
"Simply order online or via the app and let us brave the cold to deliver you piping hot pizza to your car.”
