Domino’s have managed to ‘insult’ both England and Italy
(Picture: Domino’s Pizza)While England and Italy might not have come to terms on the football pitch, there’s finally something that the two countries can take sides on - thanks to Domino’s Pizza in Japan.
In a weird and wacky attempt to come up with a hybrid culinary creation, the famous pizza joint opted to switch up a generic pizza with a British delicacy, fish and chips.
For a questionable ¥3,599 (£23), you can have yourself a pizza topped with crispy fish and chips, lemon slices, potato, basil, tartar Sauce and tomato sauce.

Naturally, people didn’t shy away from expressing their views and took to Twitter on the new Domino’s addition.
The lemon slices seemed to push people over the edge, with many tweets suggesting they would have tried the fusion food if it wasn’t for the citric addition.
I would have ordered it but the lemon was one step too fucking far.

One thought the slices were ‘madness’, while another questioned if there were actual lemon slices cooked in the pizza.
The lemon slices are just madness, otherwise it seems fine.

Is that fucking lemon cooked in the pizza?

What upsets me is that this actually looks borderline nice but

The lemons
Fucking
WHY
Yeah I get it, lemon juice goes well on fish but why not just...Use the juice?
This isn’t the first appearance of bizarre pizza combinations. One likened Domino’s creation to the full English breakfast pizza circulating online.
still better than this 💁🏻♀️ pic.twitter.com/3lxMBgO1up

While others were not impressed with the extortionate price. One joked that the pizza connoisseurs should add paella to bring Spain into the mix.
£28 for the large pizza. Dominos are overcharging globally.

For ¥500 you can add paella as an extra ingredient and offend a few million Spaniards as well.

The backlash prompted Domino’s Pizza to apologise. From their official account, they said:
“We are sorry our fish and chip pizza has caused so much trouble. We think it’s quite delicious. If you are in Japan and would like to challenge let us know. We may be able to work out a plan internally that we can offer to you for free!”
