Exclusive: Dominik Szoboszlai emerges as Arsenal's exciting option to replace Aaron Ramsey

Arsenal are understood to have registered an interest in RB Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai as they hunt for a dynamic midfielder who can replace Aaron Ramsey.

However Szoboszlai's agent has told football.london that his client remains fully focused on his current club as rumours swirl linking him to a string of top sides in England and Europe, including Juventus, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Lazio.

The Gunners are understood to be one of those teams chasing Szoboszlai but they are yet to bid for his signature. It has been reported that Salzburg would demand a fee of up to £15million to secure one of their brightest young prospects.

"I can confirm a number of the top Premier League clubs are interested in Dominik but at this point I can not confirm or deny specific clubs," Szoboszlai's agent, Matyas Esterhazy, told football.london.

"My client is focusing on his current club and the upcoming challenges of the next season both in the league and the Champions League."

Central midfielder Szoboszlai made 29 appearances for Salzburg last season, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists. His current side paid just £400,000 to sign him from second tier FC Liefering in January 2018 and are certain to make a huge profit should they choose to cash in on the highly-rated youngster.

Szoboszlai has said of himself: "A lot of people say that my style of play is close to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Toni Kroos. It is a great thing to hear that."

The Gunners are keen to add a central midfielder this summer who can fill the void left by Ramsey, who will join Juventus on July 1 when his contract at Arsenal expires.

Unai Emery does not have much money with which to improve his squad; the budget for player signings is only £45million and Arsenal hope to use that money to sign a midfielder, winger, centre-back and left-back.

That fund can be topped up through player sales and the Gunners have already made their first, agreeing a £4m deal to sell David Ospina to Napoli.
