Dominic West to play love rat in next role after Lily James kissing scandal

Dominic West is set to play a notorious womaniser in a new BBC production.

The Wire actor, 51, will play lothario Dudley Wrangel Clarke in new BBC One drama, SAS: Rogue Heroes.

It comes after the married star was caught kissing Lily James during a romantic trip to Rome back in October last year, with his wife choosing to stand by him.

His new project will depict the creation of the elite Special Air Service with help from eccentric Brigadier Dudley.

Dudley was always surrounded by beautiful women who were known as "Dudley’s Duchesses".

He was seen as a master of espionage during the Second World War.

Dudley was known for wearing women's clothing and was once arrested in Madrid in Spain while wearing a dress.

A source told The Sun.: "Viewers would be forgiven for thinking Dominic was getting typecast in roles on the back of what's happening in his private life.

"Signing up for Rogue Heroes comes after he was asked to play love cheat Prince Charles in Netflix blockbuster The Crown."

Alfie Allen, Jack O'Connell, Connor Swindells and Sofia Boutella will also star in the programme.

The Mirror has contacted the BBC and reps for Dominic for comment.

The couple left a note for the photographers that read: "Our marriage is strong and we're very much still together. Thank you."

Dominic has also said: "I just want to say our marriage is strong and we are still very much still together."

It was recently reported that Lily had left London for Los Angeles to escape the scrutiny.
