Dominic West is reported to have shut down all contact with actress Lily James following rumours the pair embarked on an illicit affair.
The famed actor and director, 51, was seen getting close to the stunning star, 31, last year following her bitter split from former boyfriend Matt Smith.
The talented pair’s close bond and chemistry set tongues wagging after they worked together on BBC One’s brand-new period drama, The Pursuit Of Love.
Dominic, who plays Lily’s dad in the much-anticipated series, is now believed to have cut off all contact with the gorgeous star following rumours of an affair.
According to The Sun, Dominic has taken drastic measures in a bid to save his marriage with his wife, Catherine Fitzgerald.
The insider claimed: “Dom hasn’t talked to Lily properly since and promised his wife he would never speak to her again so he can’t call her.
“There is concern about what she is going to say about their brief fling and her side of the story.”
The source went on to reveal: “She’s remained tight-lipped but her version of events could be very different to the one he told his wife.
“Lily is clearly hurt about being hung out to dry publicly, so it’s likely she will set the record straight at some point.”
The Sun ’s insider also shared some insight into a recent cryptic comment made by Lily.
When asked if she would come clean on the apparent rumours, the talented star remarked: “There is a lot to say, but not now, I’m afraid.”
Dominic and Lily have both remained tight-lipped about the fling rumours.
Speculation first sparked when the co-stars flew to Rome at the same time where their mutual agent Angharad Wood was staying.
While it seemed as though they had tried to escape amid the drama, the situation escalated when pictures emerged of them cuddling up to one another while sightseeing in the romantic Italian city.
After the photos were published, Dominic and Catherine, who had been married for 11 years at the time, issued a joint statement to the public.
The defiant statement read: “Our marriage is strong and we’re very much still together.”
