Dominic McKay to Celtic 'brought forward' as Scottish Rugby chief set to speed up Parkhead rebuild

New Celtic chief executive Dominic McKay is reportedly set to make an early switch to Parkhead.

The Daily Record claim the highly-rated Scottish Rugby COO, who is due to replace Peter Lawwell on July 1, will up sticks to Glasgow from Murrayfield this week.

The move could come as soon as Tuesday with the fallen champions keen to get their new man in early with a range of issues to iron out on his arrival.

When McKay does make his cross-sport switch he'll be faced with a raft of key decisions.

First up on the agenda is a new manager although main shareholder Dermot Desmond has already assured fans he's given the fresh face plenty of input on that front.

With the Hoops thought to be on the cusp of securing Eddie Howe as their new boss that may not be much of an issue.

But a new director of football is also a priority while recruitment guru Nick Hammond's resignation last week also leaves another role to be filled.

There's also the departure of captain Scott Brown to Aberdeen and a number of Parkhead stars who could be eyeing up moves elsewhere as they near the final year of their contracts.
