Dominic McKay's Celtic exit provokes mixed fan response as punters react to departure

Dominic McKay's Celtic exit has provoked a mixed response from fans this afternoon.

The chief executive cited 'personal reasons' for his departure after just five months in the job.

Michael Nicholson, the club secretary, will take over as acting CEO as revealed by the club.

But supporters took to social media to provide their response to the big news out of Parkhead this week.

Some were disappointed to see McKay leave while others simply wanted to send their well-wishes and blast the snipers.

Others suggested McKay took up a role too big following his move from Scottish Rugby.

One fan wrote, in response to the news: "No way was he making the move from rugby to football. Didn’t have the bottle for it I don’t think."

Another commented: "Let’s hope everything is ok with him and his family".

One said: "Hope all is well with him and his family & its just the pressure."

A fourth added: "From Scottish Rugby to Scottish Football. It’s like going from working at Fiat to then working at McLaren!!

"Just let the guy go..... don’t bother slaughtering him. He was way above his head after Lawwell."

McKay oversaw this summer's transfer window where he helped bring in 12 new faces including Kyogo Furuhashi, Giorgios Giakoumakis and Joe Hart.

He also played a big role in bringing in Ange Postecoglou as the club's new manager.
