Dominic Calvert-Lewin sends Arsenal ace Aaron Ramsdale one-word message amid transfer links

Arsenal will be beginning their preparations for the January transfer window, which is now just over three weeks away.

The Gunners are reportedly on the lookout for a striker given both Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette have just over six months remaining on their current deals with the club.

Meanwhile, club-captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also struggling in front of goal, failing to find the back of the net in each of his last six Premier League appearances - his longest run in an Arsenal shirt.

Mikel Arteta's side have been linked with Everton frontman Dominic Calvert-Lewin in recent weeks, with the Mirror claiming that the England international is one of their primary targets for next summer.

Now, Calvert-Lewin has taken to social media, commenting on Gunners goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale's Instagram account.

"Ramboooo", the 24-year-old's comment read.

The pair spent some time together in Sheffield United's academy and also played together for England's Under-21 side before establishing themselves with the senior side in recent times.

And Arsenal supporters will hope Ramsdale can use their friendship to try and convince his compatriot to join the north Londoners in the coming months after Everton boss Rafa Benitez recently hinted that the Toffees may be forced to sell a number of their best players in order to reinvest the money elsewhere.

"That is something we have to learn", Benitez said when asked about selling players. "The owner is ready to spend money but we can't spend all the time without bringing money back in.

"So I think we have to be clever in the future but at the moment, at this time, we have to make sure we can bring the best out of our players.

"Some clubs have been selling players at the right time, and with the money they received they improved the squad."
