Dominic Calvert-Lewin's derby goal sees him match 82-year-old scoring record of Everton legend

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is in the form of his life right now.

And he's achieved something the club hasn't seen for a long time to begin the campaign.

The 23-year-old continued his fantastic scoring run on Saturday by bagging his side's second equaliser in a 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Goodison Park.

Calvert-Lewin rose highest inside the box to meet a fantastic cross from Lucas Digne and direct it back into the corner of Adrian's goal to make sure Everton took a point from the Merseyside derby.

That was his tenth goal of the season in all competitions already across 2020/21 and his seventh in the Premier League, putting him to the top of the scoring charts in England's top division.

He's now scored in each of his side's first five league matches of the term, and that is something which hasn't been seen at Goodison for a long time.

In fact, Tommy Lawton was the last player to achieve that feat way back in the 1938/39 season.

And the striker also shares some incredible Premier League company with his record to start the campaign.

Calvert-Lewin is only the fourth player to ever score in each of his side's first five Premier League games in a season.

Jose Antonio Reyes, Wayne Rooney and Sergio Aguero are the only other players to achieve that feat.

The Everton striker will now have his eyes set on next weekend's fixture away to Southampton to try and keep his incredible streak at the start of this season going.
