'Dominating' - Leeds star fires promotion warning ahead of Nottingham Forest showdown

Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts have fired a warning to their promotion rivals ahead of this weekend’s clash against Nottingham Forest.

The Reds take on the Whites in their Sky Bet Championship fixture at the City Ground on Saturday, with both teams striving to get promoted to the Premier League.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side are currently in fourth place in the Championship table, four points behind Leeds who are second and occupy the final automatic promotion spot.

Forest suffered a 2-1 defeat to Birmingham City in their previous match, while Leeds also slipped up with a 1-0 home loss to Wigan Athletic.

Leeds narrowly missed out on promotion last season after losing to Derby County in the play-off semi-final, which had a dramatic second leg at Elland Road.

Roberts feels that Leeds are the best team in the Championship, and thoroughly deserve to be promoted this season.

The former West Brom forward also says he and the rest of the Leeds squad are looking forward to their remaining fixtures, starting with this Saturday’s away trip to the City Ground.

"All of the boys know we are the best team in the Championship and we deserve to go up,” Roberts told the Yorkshire Post.

He added: "We have shown that, even last season and this season especially with our performances, dominating game after game.

"We know that we have got it in ourselves and we believe we can get it over the finish line.

"There is still a long way to go, everyone knows that.

“After that (next two away games), there will be 14. Anything can happen after that.

"They are two great games to go and battle against the teams who are fighting with us. It will show what we are about.

"I am sure we will play our usual game, dominate possession, create chances. I believe we can win both games and I'm sure everyone in the dressing room does as well."
