The Dubliner made headlines after she posted a video on social media about her abusive relationship where she  found herself at the bottom of her stairs sporting a black eye in 2015.

"In today’s society with all of the horrors going on around the world people are still fixated with mixed families! #weareallone #racism #trolls.”

She added: “Something needs to be done @Twitter it's no wonder the suicide rate is so high in the world with all of the online trolls. #trolls”

But Emma was also met with several messages of support from wellwishers including Women’s Aid Ireland who said: “Happy #Easter @enmmamurphy to you and your wonderful children.  You are blessed to have them and they are so lucky to have a strong, brave and compassionate woman like you as their mother.
