Domestic stabbing in Sydney ends with one dead, one critically injured

Emergency services arrived at the North Richmond property about 10:45am.

A man has died and two women have been injured in a domestic violence-related stabbing at a home in Sydney's north-west.

Emergency services were called to a North Richmond home just before 11.00am after reports of a stabbing at Enfield Avenue.

"Police entered the house [and] they found a male in his late 40s, deceased," Detective Superintendent Jim Stewart said.

Police also found a woman in her late 60s with serious neck injuries, and her daughter, aged in her late 40s, with minor lacerations.

The woman in her 60s was in a critical condition and was flown to Westmead Hospital for surgery.

Police say the man and the woman in their 40s were partners.

The incident occurred while two 13-year-old girls were in the house but neither were hurt.

One of the girls was the couple's daughter.

"We're making sure that their welfare is a priority for us and they're being looked after by family and also carers from police," Detective Superintendent Stewart said.

He also said the people involved in the incident were known to police for other domestic incidents.

"There's nothing more tragic than coming to a family situation and someone is deceased … it's unacceptable," he said.

Police have established a crime scene at the house.
