A man who twice assaulted his partner said: "Thank God I'm finally getting rid of you", when she walked out on him.
Darren Bell attacked the woman at their home in Scholars Gate, East Kilbride.
Hamilton Sheriff Court heard that on the first occasion he grabbed her wrist and shoved her against a wall.
A month later he seized her by the throat and pushed her against the bedroom wall.
After the second assault, Bell's victim left the house with the couple's baby and he said: "Thank God I'm finally getting rid of you."
Bell, 34, now of Muttonhole Road, Hamilton, admitted threatening or abusive behaviour over a five-year period.
This included incidents at addresses in East Kilbride, while on holiday in Lanzarote and at a caravan park at Lochgoilhead.
He also admitted assaulting his partner in February and March 2018.
Paula Wedlock, prosecuting, said Bell's aggressive behaviour included threats against his partner's mother.
While in Lanzarote in 2013, he moaned that his in-laws were ruining the holiday for him.
Bell left the pool and went back to the family's villa where he kicked furniture and smashed glasses.
He also used the woman's bank card to take money from her account during a caravan holiday.
The court heard a recording she had made on her phone of a foul-mouthed rant in which Bell accused her family of trying to "destroy" him.
Sheriff Thomas Millar called for a criminal justice social work report and a restriction of liberty assessment.
Sentence was deferred until next month and Bell was allowed to remain on bail.
