Domenico Tedesco in Rangers research admission as RB Leipzig boss turns to Celtic ally for Europa League solution

RB Leipzig boss Domenico Tedesco admits he hasn't had time to watch Rangers win over Celtic due to the Germans' packed fixture list.

However, he will rely on former Parkhead star Andreas Hinkel to give him the lowdown on what he can expect from the Ibrox side.

Rangers travel to Germany next week to face a RB Leipzig side who sneaked through to the German Cup Final on Wednesday thanks to an injury time goal from Emil Forsberg.

It was a sluggish showing from the side as they went a goal down and required a controversial VAR penalty converted by Andre Silva to level before Forsberg decided the game.

And Tedesco revealed he will turn to a Hoops favourite for information after the relentless fixture list has hampered his pre-match preparations.

He said: "I didn't watch Rangers' win over Celtic, but I will. I am well aware that this game is very important in Scotland for both teams.

"There are a lot of emotions in this game and I know that because my assistant, Andreas Hinkel played for Celtic, so he told me a few things about Rangers and I will obviously ask him a lot more.

"Honestly speaking, I have not properly analysed Rangers because we have had so many games.

"I will start looking at them now this game has taken place. And after the weekend game against Union Berlin again, I will look very closely at them."

Tedesco let the RB Leipzig players know he was far from happy with their showing against Union Berlin despite reaching the final.

The blunt boss said: "We played terribly. Why? We were extremely nervous - I have to be honest.

"I didn't expect that. "The nervousness we showed on the park was because we gave the ball away a lot. It was always going to be a hard game and going 1-0 down to Union made it even harder. We made a lot of mistakes tonight.

"To turn it around, I'm delighted and particularly the manner of the victory. I am very happy to win the game. "
