Dom Thomas handed new Kilmarnock deal as he commits his future to Rugby Park club

Dom Thomas has been handed a one-year extension to his Kilmarnock contract, putting pen to paper until 2021.

The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at Dumbarton , but has been given a more prominent role by Angelo Alessio for 2019-20.

The attacking midfielder scored the winner against Hamilton Accies in the League Cup, and has featured in all but one of Killie's Premiership matches this season.

His contract was due to expire in May 2020, but today the club have announced that Thomas has signed a one-year extension to his current deal.

"It feels really good to sign this new deal," the former Motherwell man told Killie's official website.

"I am very happy at Kilmarnock and I went to speak to the manager about the future because I only had one year left on my contract.

“He wanted me to be here for longer so for me it was an easy decision and I’m delighted to put pen to paper."

Thomas has been capped six times by the Scotland Under-21 side, making his debut against Estonia in 2017.
