Dom Sibley hits maiden century as England drive home second-Test advantage over South Africa

Dom Sibley notched his maiden Test century against South Africa on Monday as England continued to pile on the second-Test runs in Cape Town.

The Warwickshire opener resumed on 85 not out on day four at Newlands, and took an early backseat to the big-hitting Ben Stokes before completing his first ton with a thick edge off Kagiso Rabada and then a fine sweep off Keshav Maharaj that raced away for four.

Sibley looked understandably delighted as he celebrated a century that came in his seventh innings for England, with his previous six yielding a combined total of only 105 runs.

Stokes added a swashbuckling 72 off just 47 deliveries in the morning session before a straight shot off Maharaj was caught by Rassie van der Dussen at long-on.

England, who were 218 for four overnight, were then reduced to 315 for six when Ollie Pope was bowled by Rabada for three.
