Dom Manfredi's surprise position in the Wigan Warriors team for Challenge Cup clash

Dom Manfredi will return to the Wigan team from the bench after being named in Adrian Lam's matchday squad to face Hull FC.

The winger will make his first appearance of the season after recovering from a thumb injury that has prevented him playing so far.

But he has been named on the interchange as Lam makes one change, replacing the suspended Tony Clubb.

That sees Liam Byrne start at prop, his first start for the club.

There's room for flexibility within the Wigan side, with Liam Farrell and Willie Isa remaining at centre while Jake Bibby and Bevan French are on the wings.

Meanwhile, Hull have opted for Adam Swift at fullback to replace Jake Connor.

Wigan Warriors: Zak Hardaker, Bevan French, Liam Farrell, Willie Isa, Jake Bibby, Jackson Hastings, Harry Smith, Liam Byrne, Sam Powell, Brad Singleton, John Bateman, Morgan Smithies, Oliver Partington.

Bench: Joe Bullock, Ethan Havard, Jake Shorrocks, Dom Manfredi.

Hull FC: Adam Swift: Cameron Scott, Carlos Tuimavave Josh Griffin, Mahe Fonua; Josh Reynolds, Marc Sneyd; Chris Satae, Danny Houghton, Ligi Sao; Andre Savelio, Manu Ma’u; Jordan Lane

Bench: Jack Brown, Jordan Johnstone, Connor Wynne, Joe Cator
