A south suburban chiropractor pleaded not guilty Monday to charges that he allegedly paid patients to help him defraud private insurances companies.
John Kosloski, 55, is charged with six federal counts of health care fraud after he allegedly submitted reimbursement claims to private insurance companies for treatment he never performed, the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Northern District of Illinois said in a statement.
Kosloski, of Beecher, allegedly plotted with at least five of his patients who provided him with personal identifying information of family members to use for the false claims, prosecutors said. Kosloski allegedly gave those patients a cut of the proceeds in the form of cash stuffed into envelopes.
He pleaded not guilty Monday at an arraignment in Chicago, prosecutors said. Each count of health care fraud is punishable by 10 years in prison.
Calls to Kosloski’s practice, Diagnostic & Therapeutic Rehab at 1313 E. Sibley Blvd., went unanswered.
