Dolphins trade quarterback Ryan Tannehill to Titans in swap of draft picks

The Miami Dolphins have agreed to trade Ryan Tannehill to the Tennessee Titans, as announced by the quarterback’s agency, SportsTrust Advisors. The move, which comes a day after free agent quarterback Teddy Bridgewater balked at Miami’s offer to sign, will put Tannehill squarely behind veteran quarterback Marcus Mariota.

The details of the trade are as follows: Tannehill and a 2019 sixth-round pick go to Tennessee in return for a 2019 seventh-round pick and a 2020 fourth-round pick.

The Dolphins faced an uphill battle to flip Tannehill for assets, given his bloated cap figure, so getting anything in return for him is a win for Miami.

Somehow, general manager Chris Grier managed to finalize a deal to send Tannehill to reunite in Nashville with former Dolphin Cameron Wake, who signed a three-year deal with Tennessee earlier this week after a decade in South Florida.
