The Dolphins have agreed to terms with wide receiver Kenny Stills on a four-year, $32 million deal with $20 million guaranteed, according to multiple reports.
The Dolphins agreed to terms with defensive end Andre Branch on a reported three-year, $27 million deal earlier Wednesday, ahead of Thursday's afternoon's start of free agency.
Stills, who had 42 receptions for 726 yards and a career-best nine touchdowns last season, is the deep threat that complements fellow wide receivers Jarvis Landry and DeVante Parker.
The Dolphins are also expected to add Jacksonville tight end Julius Thomas in a trade that can be finalized Thursday at the start of the new league year, and that figures to give quarterback Ryan Tannehill the best arsenal of receivers he's had in his NFL career.
Stills, a fifth-year player who turns 25 next month, had 27 receptions for 440 yards and three receptions in 2015, his first year with the Dolphins.
Coach Adam Gase was unsure about keeping Stills, a potential free agent, when he was asked about him last week at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis.
"One day I feel good about it, one day I feel like crap about it," Gase said. "I hate free agency. You just want to get your guys back. Kenny and myself have a very close relationship.
"The worst thing about the NFL is sometimes that doesn't matter. Sometimes the money is what guys are looking for. Kenny, obviously, he'd love to stay here but he's going to stay for the right price and what's comfortable for him and I don't think anybody would blame him for that."
Stills averaged 17.3 yards per reception last season, third in the NFL behind Washington's DeSean Jackson (17.9 yards per reception, four touchdowns) and New England's Chris Hogan (17.9 yards per reception, four touchdowns). Stills averages 16.7 yards per reception for his career.
He has career totals of 164 receptions for 2,738 yards and 20 touchdowns.
