Dolphins to observe moment of silence in honor of Fernandez

The Miami Dolphins will acknowledge the tragic passing of Jose Fernandez with a moment of silence before kickoff of their game against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

Fernandez, the Marlins ace, was one of three killed in a boating accident at Government Cut in Miami Beach early Sunday morning.

The Marlins canceled their game against the Braves Sunday; the Dolphins' game against the Browns will go forward as planned.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of Jose Fernandez and the entire Marlins organization," the team said in a written statement.

Dolphins CEO Tom Garfinkel added on Twitter: "Terrible, terrible news. Sincere condolences to Jose's family, friends, and the [at sign]Marlins organization."
