Dolphins to name Tua Tagovailoa starting QB

It’s officially Tua Time in Miami.

The Dolphins are passing the torch from Ryan Fitzpatrick to rookie Tua Tagovailoa, who will be named the team’s starting quarterback. The news was first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, and later confirmed ny NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Tagovailoa played a handful of snaps in Sunday’s blowout win over the New York Jets, and with a bye week upcoming, Tagovailoa will have a little extra time to get ready for his first NFL start.

It’s an incredible moment for a talented player who suffered a gruesome, season-ending injury in his final season at Alabama, but was still made the No. 5 overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft.
