Dolphins-Titans to be held as scheduled in Miami

Rain, rain went away, so the Dolphins will play this Sunday.

The Dolphins announced Friday that their game against the Titans at Hard Rock Stadium will be held as scheduled.

Kickoff will be 1 p.m. EDT on Sunday.

This really should come as no surprise, as Hurricane Matthew just grazed the area Thursday. The team was rightfully concerned about how the area would look this weekend if Matthew made landfall in South Florida as a Category 4.

Instead, all Broward and Miami-Dade counties got was a little wind and a lot of rain. After the team inspected Hard Rock Stadium for potential damage Friday, it announced that the game would be held as scheduled.

As for the playing surface, the Miami Herald has learned that it is in excellent shape. The drainage system worked as intended; the field is not saturated.

That's encouraging news, considering it will be used twice in the span of 17 hours. The University of Miami hosts Florida State Saturday night.
